Maison Egalité

Situated in the Haute-Marne, the French region of plateaus, hills and forrests.

The authentic French village of Melay, is located in the Haute-Marne on the border of the Haute-Saone and the Vosges mountaines. In this rural village at 14 Rue Dumont lies Maison Egalité.

Melay is located only 25 km from the “route Soleil” A31/E25, a 6-hour drive from Utrecht and is therefore a perfect stopover for an overnight stay on the route to the South of France, Spain or vice versa.

The village of Melay is located in the middle of the beautiful classical towns of Epinal, Langres and Vesoul.

The oldest part of the house, the cellars and an old ruin, dates back from 1780, which is evident from the facing stone above the old entrance of the ruin. In 1780, according to the stories, a rest home for nuns was established here. The old building is largely gone, but the current building has been there for more than 150 years and is built on the foundations of the old monastery.
