In recent months we have been followed by the television show“Het roer om”, broadcast by SBS6 in the Netherlands.
In addition to the challenge of making a huge change in our lives and doing something else abroad, signing up to participate in a television show is certainly just as big a step.
The first introductory talks with the editors of Monday Media (the producer), for participating in the show, took place in October 2020. We immediately had a very positive connection with the producer and decided to participate in the show.
At that time we had just sold our house in the Netherlands and we were able to look for a suitable house in France.
By chance we found our home in Melay. Fantastically located in a small village in the Haute Marne, yet very easy and quickly accessible from the Route de Soleil for all future guests who are on their way to the South of France or vice versa, for example.
From the end of 2021, shortly after purchasing our house in Melay, we have been followed by the program makers. In the beginning you have to get use to having a camera in and around the house all day, but at some point you forget that the camera is there.
Last Christmas 2022 we finally had our first group of 13 guests and we were able to fully test all rooms and (sanitary) facilities.
From 1 March 2023, Maison Egalité is officially open and reservations can be made. We look forward to welcoming you!
